Off to Camp Chemo

It's hard to believe, but today is my fourth and LAST A/C (round one) chemo treatment! Woo Hoo!
Hopefully it's downhill from here! I will have to wait another two weeks, then I'll begin round two
(Taxol) of my treatment. I'm definitely on the road to recovery! :-)

The last two days have kind of been taste returned! I don't know if it's fleeting (it more than likely is since I'm getting "poisoned" again today) but I enjoyed it immensely while it was here. I didn't rush out and eat myself sick, but the things I ate from my own kitchen sure did taste good! Last night I had dinner with friends, and to confirm to myself that I REALLY could taste, I ordered a cup of coffee. I could taste it! (and promptly drank it and ordered two more refills) I'd like to say that my dinner was something amazing like lobster tails or prime rib, but I ordered a good 'ol cheesburger and fries. It was delicious. Sure would be great if my rekindled tasted buds decide to stick around. If not, there's always my taco bell hot sauce.

TGIF everyone. I'll check back tomorrow with tales from camp chemo.

  1. Oh, I really, really, really have my fingers crossed that your taste buds are here to stay!!! I bet you savored that precious coffee! Whoo hoo!! Last round of this treatment! Happy dance time!!

  2. Can you believe this weather!? It is AMAZING OUTSIDE!!! I just sat out on my balcony eating strawberries, it was quite delightful! The sun must have come out in celebration of your last first round treatment! Rachel might get a perfect driving day after all... knock on wood! Hope you having fun at chemo (I know you will since your friends are coming with you today!) I'm off to go enjoy this weather as much as possible since it will all be gone and back down into the 30's by the weekend LoL. Love you <3

  3. I'll be thinking of you and celebrating your last day of round 1 today Joanne! Coffee and Cheeseburgers... 2 of my favorite taste sensations - I'm so glad you got to enjoy them :) You DESERVE it! Have a great day!

  4. Hope you are feeling okay - I am sure having Rachel home will help. Take care of yourself. I'm not sure I'm ready to see my bald-headed, pj-clad neighbor face-down in her yard!
